PEI is the abbreviation of polyether imide, which is resistant to high temperature above 170 ° C and belongs to super engineering plastics. The only PEI sold in the global market is the SABIC (formerly GE) brand ULTEM.
PEI is a transparent amber non crystalline engineering plastic with a density of 1.27cm3, and the addition of 10% GF will increase the specific gravity by 0.08-0.1.
The glass transition temperature is 215 ℃, and the thermal deformation temperature is 198~208 ℃. It can be used for a long time at 170~180 ℃, and the intermittent use temperature can reach 200 ℃. Adding GF will increase HDT by about 10 ℃.
The main applications of ULTEM PEI are in sheet metal, bars, and injection molded products.
It can meet the requirements of injection molding, extrusion and other processes, but the temperature requirement is high, and the maximum temperature of the machine must be above 400 ℃.
